Crush peppermint candies and place on a small plate.
Rim the shot glasses by dipping them in water and then into the crushed candy.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour the peppermint schnapps, crème de cacao, and heavy cream.
Shake well until chilled.
Strain into rimmed shot glasses.
Top with whipped cream if you’re feeling extra festive. Serve immediately.
