Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 1 small onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape into four oval patties.
  3. Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions and mushrooms until soft.
  5. Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
  7. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or rice.
