Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) beef consommé
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium-sized baking dish, combine the rice, French onion soup, beef consommé, and melted butter. Stir well to mix.
  3. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  4. Remove the foil, stir the rice, and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  5. Bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
  6. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.
