Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Stir in garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Serve the beef over bowls of cooked rice.
  4. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
