Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the beef and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the onions and garlic. Sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Stir in oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, sugar, and beef broth.
  6. Return the beef to the pan and stir-fry for another 2 minutes until well coated.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
