Ingredients

  • 3 large russet potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse grated potatoes under cold water and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
  2. Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Spread the potatoes evenly in the skillet and press down with a spatula.
  4. Cook for 4-5 minutes until golden brown, then flip carefully.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the top and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
