Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 ½ cups dry orzo
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large deep skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until soft. Stir in minced garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Pour in beef broth and milk, then stir in the orzo. Bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 12-15 minutes until orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley if you’d like, and serve warm.
