Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt. Bring it to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and stir in the flour with a wooden spoon until a dough ball forms.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Then, beat in eggs one at a time until smooth.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Spoon dough into a piping bag with a star tip. Pipe 1-inch pieces into the oil, cutting with scissors.
  6. Fry until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  7. Drain on paper towels. While still warm, toss in a mix of cinnamon and sugar.
  8. Serve fresh and enjoy!
