Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until combined.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Scoop dough onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers look set.
Cool on the pan for a few minutes before moving to a wire rack.
